The ninth year of the Campaign for America's Libraries' partnership with Woman's Day magazine has begun with a timely article on how library services have helped four Woman's Day readers deal with tough economic times. A call for entries appeared in the March 2009 issue of the magazine.

Literacy Partner: "The American Dream Starts @your library"
"The American Dream Starts @your library" grant was started several years ago to help public libraries increase their literacy services to adult English language learners, especially new immigrants. Each of the 34 winning libraries received a grant of $5,000, funded by the Dollar General Literacy Foudnation and implemented by the ALA.

Individual Library Campaign
Duluth Public Library in Duluth, Minnesota produced and aired slides to be played in local movie theatres promoting the library and all the services available for its locals. These ads were seen during 4000 screenings by more than 100,000 people in the area.
