Nigerian librarians, Victoria Okojie and Barbara Jones

On Friday, July 31, 15 librarians representing each region of Nigeria attended the FAIFE  "Train the Trainers" session for HIV/AIDS and the Role of the Librarian. The workshop was held in Ibadan one day after the Nigerian Library Association meeting in that city.

Four Ibadan area librarians–including those from the University of Ibadan Medical Library–will develop a project in collaboration with REACH, a joint public health venture between Northwestern University in the US and the University of Ibadan Medical College.

The entire group will support this project and will try to obtain funding to expand the project into other regions of Nigeria. Barbara Jones was the FAIFE trainer and Victoria Okojie, the President of the Nigerian Library Association, is coordinating in Nigeria along with the Ibadan group.
