IFLA Global Vision Africa participants in Yaoundé, Cameroon

From 14 to 15 May, African library community leaders representing 37 countries have gathered in Yaoundé, Cameroon to discuss how a united library field can tackle to challenges of the future together.

This represents a strong contribution from the African continent to the global discussion!

IFLA President-elect Glòria Pérez-Salmerón stated:

We need to create a united library field; no one can do it better than we.”

And IFLA Secretary General Gerald Leitner underlined:

We believe that knowledge and expertise to transform the library field exists everywhere. Therefore, IFLA is organizing Vision workshops on all continents – to listen and discuss – and to make all voices heard."

The next IFLA Global Vision Regional Workshop will take place on 21-22 May 2017 in Alexandria, Egypt. We can’t wait to continue this Global Vision journey to the Middle East!
