The fourth African Regional Forum on Sustainable Development is the last of a set of five regional meetings which have taken place in preparation for the UN High Level Political Forum. It provides an opportunity to discuss progress on the 2030 Agenda from a regional perspective, sharing stories of successes and lessons learned, and send messages to the rest of the world.

With libraries strongly focused on promoting development in their own communities – and in making the case for partnership at a national and global level – IFLA will engage strongly in this meeting. Mandiaye Ndiaye and Assane Fall, members of the Senegalese Library Association, will both participate, telling the story of libraries to the ministers, officials and experts coming together in Dakar, Senegal.
