The main policy and decision making bodies of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) are the General Assembly and the Coordination Committee. Twenty Assemblies, and other bodies of the member states of WIPO and of the Unions administered by WIPO, traditionally meet in ordinary or extraordinary session in Autumn.

The 28th Extraordinary General Assembly of WIPO will take place the 7th and 8th May 2020 and will introduce the appointment of the new Director-General, Mr Daren Tang, representative of the Intellectual Property Office in Singapore.

IFLA submitted a declaration to WIPO as contribution prepared by Winston Tabb (Head of IFLA’s delegation), Stephen Wyber, Manager of Policy and Advocacy, and Camille Françoise, Policy and Research Officer.
