The latest meeting of the World Intellectual Property Organization’s (WIPO) Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights (SCCR) saw further discussions about how to get the best laws for libraries.

Delegates from around the world were clear in their support for the mission of our institutions, alongside archives, museums, education and research institutions.

While further meetings will be necessary to determine how to do this, the words of the delegates show the level of support for meaningful action.

IFLA is grateful to its members who have been active in encouraging their governments to take a positive position, and looks forward to the next meeting in June 2020.
